Impossible to get through it, i looked up on youtube a walk through and more had the same problem. Im talking about the dog part of the last mission, totally impossible to get past... But other than that, its as good as the other newer Sherlock Holmes games.. I enjoyed this, it was challenging, to say the least. I had to use walkthrough many times, since I just wanted to continue futher. The story was interesting, but some of the quizzes were too hard and annoying to pass.. Its poor everything about it the slowness of character the rubbish puzzles its just poor sorry.. A very nice game with tricky puzzles. The graphics are not the newest but its still a game which can be very enjoyable because of the story. In addition you must save your game with small breaks because of the lack of autosave and of game over situations (fire in the woods or the stealth part) where you must load the last save you made. Because of this issue I had lots of replays because I forgot to save my game and I had to replay 3 hours of the game again.. A very nice game with tricky puzzles. Because of this issue I had lots of replays because I forgot to save my game and I had to replay 3 hours of the game again.. The game started out nice enough. Point-n-click adventure game. Not the best, but enjoyable. Then I got to the part where you need to stealthely get by a guard and his dog. A stealth part in an adventure game. Now, if implemented properly, this wouldn't be that bad. Unfortunatelly that is not the case here. The rules of how they can detect you are not explained nor are they obvious. Depending on where you are, Holmes may or may not be able to go where you click. Even after checking out some walkthroughs and knowing what I was supposed to do (which didn't really make sense in the first place) I was not able to get through this stage. Quite a shame since from what I understand, that's about halfway through. Oh well.. HORRIBLE game play!!!! Hand doesn't even click on the area you have selected. Had sherlock stuck in a room for 15 minutes trying to get him to open the door and leave and couldn't. The angles are horrible, you walk to corners and can't get out. If the game was created to irritate and anger you it does a very good job. I have played this game and the mystery of the mummy. They both seem like bad knock offs of the classic Electronic Arts Sherlock Holmes games. I have purchased the rest of the set from Frogwares I would hope that at least one will be worth the money spent....The jury is still out, moving to the next game in the series.. this game doesn't even take place near the 22nd century. This game aged in every way possible but even today is still quite decent and playable, not the best game out here but not the worst either :). What could have been a really engaging story, with decent puzzles to keep the player engaged and provide a sense of participation\/accomplishment, is unfortunately let down rather badly by poor game mechanics and puzzle choices. It is generally not possible to progress from an area until you have discovered every single clue there is, which is fair, but in that case those clues should be easier to find (with the difficulty resting on the subsequent puzzles and deductions). What this game does is leave the player furiously scrabbling for walkthroughs, or in my case, several walkthroughs, to find the answers to puzzles that are not just hard, but outright nonsensical. In one case, every walkthrough I have found simply gave up and brute-forced the answer through repeat tries.Unfortunately this all culminated in a stealth scene that, if failed, fails the entire game (which is a bit steep for a game without autosaves, didn't I mention? SAVE OFTEN!). Maybe it was the conversion to newer systems with expanded graphics, but character movements glitch through, over and behind objects, and this seems to have disrupted the mechanics of that scene, making it impossible to succeed, even when following walkthroughs to the letter. As such, the game was unplayable beyond that point, which I am told is about halfway through. So unless you see indications that these problems have been fixed, save yourself the expense... and the pain of an endlessly looping soundtrack as Holmes combs every square inch of every level with his magnifying glass, seeking THAT one final clue.Elementary, my dear Watson. Don't buy it!
